Constructing an underwater pipeline below the Rhine-Herne Canal

The Rhine-Herne Canal was constructed by cutting through mining fields that were used or planned to be used for coal mining. Since 1914, it has provided access to the southern Ruhr area and connected the river Rhine with the Dortmund-Ems Canal.

The existing gas and oxygen pipeline of the pipe bridge was replaced with an underwater pipeline installed by our Gottwald AK 450 and Liebherr LTM 1400.
